Handled
Terms of Use
Last updated October 16, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Handled Jobs, a sole proprietorship owned by Kale Moore. By checking the box and tapping Agree, or by using Handled, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Handled.
1. Who can use Handled
You must be at least 13. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian has to approve your account. You give us their name and phone number. Handled texts them at that number to make sure it's really them and that it's okay (or they can text or call us at (385) 275-6240). Your account unlocks only after they say yes. By approving, they agree to these Terms for you and for themselves, and they're responsible for your use of Handled. If you're under 16, you can only take jobs the poster has marked Under 16 welcome, and an adult must be home the whole time. Your parent or guardian also gets a private, read-only link to all your chats, including voice messages and deleted messages.
2. What Handled is
- Handled is a marketplace. We help people post jobs, find each other, and pay.
- We are not part of any job. The deal is only between the poster and the helper.
- Helpers are independent contractors, not employees of Handled. We don't control or guarantee their work.
- Everyone talks through the in-app chat. We never show your phone number to other users.
- ID verification only checks that someone's photo matches their ID. It is not a background check. Ratings are other users' opinions.
- You decide who you work with and who you let onto your property.
3. Your responsibilities
- Be honest in your profile, jobs, messages, and ratings.
- Follow the law. Get any license or permit a job needs.
- Helpers: only take jobs you can do safely. You can walk away from anything unsafe.
- Posters: warn helpers about anything dangerous, like dogs, chemicals, or heavy items.
- You're responsible for your own taxes.
- Follow our Community guidelines.
4. Risks, and you release Handled
Jobs can involve physical work, tools, lifting, weather, animals, strangers, and other people's property. That can lead to injury, damage, or loss. You understand these risks and accept them.
To the fullest extent the law allows, you release Handled Jobs, its owner and anyone working for it from all claims about any job, any other user, anything a user says or does online or in person, or your use of Handled. That includes injury, death, property damage, theft, and lost money. If you have a problem with another user, it's between you and them.
5. Money
- Posting a job is free.
- Posters pay the job price, plus a 5% Handled fee, plus a card processing fee (about 2.9% + 30ยข). The card processing fee is what the card processor charges to take a card payment.
- Helpers get the job price minus a 10% Handled fee. Payouts go out weekly, on Mondays.
- Quick payout (optional): helpers can get their money in about 30 minutes instead of waiting for Monday, for a 2% fee (at least $1), taken by Stripe from that payout. You see the exact fee before you confirm. Monday payouts stay free.
- Paying by bank: posters can pay from their bank instead of a card. The bank fee is 0.8% (never more than $5) plus $1.50 to connect your bank, and it replaces the card processing fee. When you pay by bank, you authorize Stripe to take that one payment from your bank account. A bank payment takes about 4 business days to clear. The job can go ahead while it clears, and the helper is paid only after it clears. If a bank payment fails, you have to pay by card.
- Remember my bank: if you choose it, Stripe keeps your bank so next time you can pay in one tap with no $1.50 connect fee. Each time you tap Pay from your saved bank, you authorize that one payment. Remove your saved bank anytime under You, then Getting paid.
- Invite reward: when a friend who used your invite code finishes their first job, you both get 2 weeks with no Handled fees (no 5% and no 10%). The card or bank fee still applies. Each account can receive the 2 free weeks once; friends you invite after that still receive their own.
- Payments go through Stripe, and you agree to Stripe's terms too.
- We hold the payment until the job is done: the poster confirms it, or it finishes on its own 24 hours after we let the poster know (see section 7).
- Don't pay outside Handled for a job you found here. If you do, none of our protections apply.
6. Cancellations and no-shows
- If the poster cancels more than 1 hour before the start, they get the job price and the Handled fee back. The card or bank fee is not refunded.
- If the poster cancels within 1 hour of the start, the poster gets 40% of the price back, the helper gets 40% for their time, and Handled keeps the rest.
- If the helper cancels, or doesn't show up, the poster gets a full refund, card or bank fee included.
- If you paid by bank and the payment hasn't cleared yet, any refund goes out once it clears.
- A helper who cancels within 1 hour of the start, or doesn't show up, owes half of what they would have made. We take it out of their next payout.
- 3 cancellations lock your account for 5 days. 2 no-shows lock it for 30 days.
7. When a job is done
- When the helper marks the job done, the poster confirms it or declines it.
- If the poster taps Decline, they have to give a reason. Handled reviews it, including the photos and the chat, and decides within 24 hours.
- When the helper marks the job done, Handled lets the poster know by alert and email. If the poster doesn't confirm or decline within 24 hours after that, the job finishes on its own and the helper is paid, the same as if the poster had confirmed it.
- If the helper fixes something and marks the job done again, the poster gets a new notice and a new 24 hours.
8. Not allowed
- Illegal jobs, or jobs that need a license you don't have.
- Babysitting, roofing, electrical or gas work, driving someone's car, and anything with weapons, alcohol, or drugs.
- Harassment, threats, discrimination, fake accounts, fake jobs, or fake reviews.
- Objectionable content of any kind, including sexual content, nudity, hate speech, slurs, violence, and bullying, in jobs, messages, photos, names, or reviews.
Zero tolerance. Handled has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Handled filters language automatically, and you can report any job or person, or block anyone, right in the app. We review every report within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and remove the people who post it.
9. Your content and your account
You own what you post. You let Handled show and store it to run the app. We can remove content, or suspend or close any account, that breaks these Terms or puts people at risk. You can delete your account anytime by tapping Delete my account at the bottom of the You tab. We close it within 24 hours, and keep payment records as required for taxes.
10. No promises, and a limit on what we owe
Handled is provided "as is." We don't promise the app, any user, or any job will be safe, error-free, or work every time.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Handled isn't responsible for indirect damages, lost profits, or injury or damage caused by another user. If we're ever found responsible for anything, the most we'll owe you in total is $100 or the fees you paid Handled in the last 12 months, whichever is more.
11. You'll cover us
If someone makes a claim against Handled because of your job, your content, or you breaking these Terms or the law, you'll cover Handled's losses and costs, including lawyer's fees.
12. Disputes
If you have a problem with Handled, contact us first at handled.co82k@gmail.com, and we'll try to work it out within 30 days. If we can't, either side can go to small claims court or to the courts in Weber County, Utah.
13. Governing law
Utah law governs these Terms. Any case about them goes to the courts in Weber County, Utah, or to small claims court.
14. Apple
If you got the app from the App Store, these Terms are between you and Handled, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app, but may enforce these Terms.
15. The rest
If part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update these Terms and will tell you in the app if anything big changes.
